James Dice of West Carrollton is CBC's first blood donor of 2012!
Snow flurries were flying and dusting the roads around Dayton early Monday morning, January 2, 2012 when James Dice of West Carrollton arrived at the downtown Dayton Community Blood Center (CBC) to donate. Call it a roll of the dice… but James became the first CBC blood donor of the year!
“As I was driving up here it crossed my mind that I could be the first of the year,” said James. “I’m always one of the first three of the day. It occurred to me I could be the first!”
First indeed! But it was far from his first donation. In fact, with his kick-off donation of 2012, James reached Lifetime Donation number 110. James began donating decades ago because, he says, blood saved his life after he was severely wounded in Viet Nam. James has spent a lifetime of giving back the very gift that gave him a second chance at life. Thank you for your service to our nation James. Congratulations on 110 donations and thanks for helping us get a fast and “flurrious” start to 2012!
