Bradford High School and Principal Bob Daugherty, Greenville Technology, Inc. and Versailles High school are all proud winners of the first Community Blood Center (CBC) Richard Rentz Blood Donation Advocacy Awards in Darke Co.

The Darke Co. Advisory Board developed the recognition program in 2011 to honor special supporters of CBC.  The award was named in honor of Richard Rentz, a very special advocate of blood donations.

Richard was a dedicated blood donor with 428 lifetime donations.  He served on the Darke Co. Advisory Group for more than 12 years, and volunteered at many CBC Darke Co. events.  Richard was a strong advocate for the importance of the volunteer blood donor program.

The goal of the awards is to recognize those who exceed expectations as a supporter of blood drives in Darke Co. and Union City.  They are awarded annually in four categories: individual or chairperson; corporate or business; sponsor group, organization, blood drive support sponsor or host site; and education.

Bradford High School Principal Bob Daugherty was named the individual or chairperson award winner and Bradford High School earned the honor for sponsor group, organization, blood drive support sponsor or host site.
