Windle McDonald dropped by the Dayton CBC Thursday, Dec. 13 to make his regular whole blood donation and went home with an early Christmas present: a new Victorinox “Donor for Life – 150 LTD” wristwatch.
“I feel OK,” said Windle. “I’m doing fine. I’ve got my farm out there in Farmersville and that keeps me busy.” In fact, farm work seems to motivate Windle to keep his steady donation schedule. “That’s why I get the t-shirt,” he said. “When you’re out there working on a hay ride, you’re sweating. The t-shirts are perfect!”
Windle says that with a laugh and a wink. We know he is motivated to donate by more than the t-shirt. After donating he was stopping by the St. Vincent de Paul to make a donation. He also talked about the food and gift certificates he and neighbors had collected for a Masonic Lodge drive to help needy families at Christmas time. The spirit of giving is simply in Windle’s blood. Thank you Windle!
